Recipe: Italian Vinaigrette Salad Dressing
The easiest and fastest way to a traditional house dressing with Italian herbs and garlic.

4 tsp. (1 pkt.) Sicilian Bread Dipping Oil Seasoning Mix, unprepared
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbls. water
3/4 cup oil (vegetable, canola, or olive)

~ In a microwave-safe bowl, stir together Dipping Oil Mix, vinegar, and water.
~ Microwave on high for 30 seconds.
~ Pour mixture into a blender, add oil, and blend for 15 seconds.
~ Pour into a bottle or cruet.
~ Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 1 month.

Suggested Additions: (Reduces shelf life to 1 week)
1 Tbls. anchovy paste
2 Tbls. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
 
Recipe: Sicilian Roast Potatoes
Quick and easy side dish blends the flavors of rosemary and garlic with red potatoes and Parmesan cheese. Makes the perfect accompaniment to roast chicken.

2 tsp. Sicilian Bread Dipping Oil Seasoning Mix, unprepared
1/4 cup oil (vegetable, canola, or olive)
up to 2 pounds red / new potatoes, scrubbed clean, halved or quartered depending on size
grated Parmesan or Romano cheese, as needed, optional

~ Stir together Dipping Oil Mix and oil; set aside.
~ Place potatoes on a cookie sheet; drizzle with Sicilian oil and shake pan to coat.
~ Sprinkle potatoes with Parmesan/Romano, if desired.
~ Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15-25 minutes, until potatoes are tender. (Test tenderness by piercing with a fork.)
 
Recipe: Sicilian Salami Swizzle Sticks
A clever and easy-to-make appetizer that'll disappear fast at a party! Herbed cheese spread over salami, then wrapped around a pretzel stick for easy handling.

2 tsp. Sicilian Bread Dipping Oil Seasoning Mix, unprepared
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup chopped roasted red bell pepper (available in a jar at the grocery store)
1 lb. thin-sliced salami
1 bag pretzel rods

~ With an electric mixer, cream together Sicilian Mix and cream cheese until smooth and blended; gently stir in roasted peppers.
~ Spread a thin, even layer of mixture over slices of salami.
~ Wrap coated salami around the top half of the pretzel rods.
~ Chill until ready to serve.
 
Recipe: Rosemary Garlic Pizza Sauce
Sometimes, simplicity is best. This pizza sauce is a prime example of simple, quality ingredients melding together to create the perfect base for an impeccable pizza.

1 pkt. Sicilian Bread Dipping Oil Seasoning Mix, unprepared
1 cup San Marzano tomato sauce (available at most grocery stores)

~ Stir together Sicilian Mix and tomato sauce; chill at least 1 hour.
 
Recipe: Rosemary Garlic Focaccia
Savory Italian flat bread to serve along side pasta or soup. Lightly seasoned with herbaceous rosemary and zesty garlic.

1 pkg. Beer Bread Mix (Original or Rustic Wheat & Herb), unprepared
12 oz. bottle of beer or seltzer
1 pkt. Sicilian Bread Dipping Oil Seasoning Mix, prepared as for dipping oil
coarse sea salt, as needed for sprinkling

~ In a bowl, stir together Beer Bread Mix and beer/seltzer; set dough aside.
~ Use a small amount of Dipping Oil to lightly oil a 9" X 13" pan.
~ With wet hands, press the Beer Bread dough evenly into the greased pan.
~ Brush remaining Dipping Oil over dough.
~ With the tips of your fingers, make impressions about half-way through the dough, about 1 per square inch (this is to ensure bread doesn't rise too much).
~ Sprinkle with sea salt.
~ Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
~ Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice into strips.
~ If desired, serve with Pizza Sauce (see recipe, above) for dipping.
